• Absence of Wnt4 signaling in female embryonic germ cells maintains the germ cells in the G1-GO and S phases like in male germ cells • Wnt4 signaling induces meiosis progression of meiosis entry by reducing DNMT3a, DNMT1 and 5mC markers in female germ cells • Wnt4 signaling is necessary for removing the methylation of Sycp3 promoter allowing Sycp3 to be expressed when the germ cells progress into meiosis • Wnt4 signaling plays a crucial role in regulating the delicate balance between DNA methylation and acetylation in female germ cells.
