• Zwitterionic-vinylene-linked covalent organic framework (ZV-COF) was synthesized • ZV-COF with effective selective cationic nanochannels accelerates Li+ transport • ZV-COF as the solid-state electrolyte features wide temperature adaptability • ZV-COF is demonstrated for applications in solid-state lean lithium metal batteries
