Effective teaming structures are critical for delivering behavior support to students. For schools implementing a multi-tiered systems of support framework, teams are responsible for supporting school personnel to implement effective practices and delivering practices to students. Once practices are implemented, teams monitor student progress and make adjustments as needed (e.g. intensify, continue implementing, fade students). Although MTSS teaming is common in elementary and middle schools, there is less research and fewer implementation examples in high schools. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to provide (a) an overview of implementing MTSS in high schools, (b) key considerations for implementing team structures in high schools, and (c) a case example of one school district and high school's experience implementing these teaming structures across the tiers.
