Abstract
En 中文
• Food processing is classified using an ordinal and systematic Food Processing Level (FPL) scaling. • Quantitative Processed Food Intake (PFI) categories are based on the ordinal FPL scaling. • Food processing exposure from intake of foods, meals and diets is objectively quantified by descriptors. • Meals and diets of published feeding studies are reclassified confirming applicability of the FPL-PFI -framework. • Item, energy and nutrient-based descriptors quantify processing impact beyond the Nova approach.
