• DES–water biphasic extraction achieved a selectivity coefficient of 27,014. • PC recovery reached 78.52%, outperforming conventional solvent extraction. • Selectively recovered extracts were directly converted into active films. • The CA-rich film achieved 73.33% elongation and strong antibacterial activity. • The active film extended refrigerated shrimp shelf life from 1 to 4 days.
