The emergence of 3D food printing (3DFP) has transformed personalized nutrition, enabling tailored food products that cater to individual dietary needs and preferences. This review examines biopolymer-based inks in 3DFP, highlighting their potential to deliver next-generation customized nutrition. Biopolymers, derived from natural sources, offer a sustainable platform for edible inks. Printability, influenced by rheological properties, is optimized through green chemistry and printhead design. Performance depends on nutritional bioavailability and sensory appeal, enhanced through ingredient selection and printing parameters. Policy frameworks ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Applications include geriatric care, sports nutrition, and sustainable food production, where tailored nutrition improves outcomes. A 3-P Pillar framework guides stakeholders in driving innovation and growth. This framework encompasses printability, performance, and policy, addressing complex challenges.
