Observer-Based Secure Consensus of Multi-agent Systems Under Collaborative Cyber-attacks

Abstract

This paper investigates the secure consensus problem of multi-agent systems under complex collaborative attacks and input saturation constraints. A novel collaborative network attack is considered in this paper, integrating DoS attacks and replay attacks in a coordinated manner to target the communication channels between agents, thereby posing a greater threat to system stability than unorganized hybrid network attacks. For systems under this attack, we propose a novel compensation-based observer to estimate adjacent agents’ states when their neighbor information becomes unavailable under collaborative network attacks. A consensus control protocol utilizing the observer is proposed to counter complex collaborative network attacks. Consequently, the system can achieve asymptotic leader-following consensus under the proposed control protocol. Ultimately, the efficacy of the proposed method is demonstrated through illustrative simulation examples.
