个人简介

Research focuses on understanding cell signaling deregulation in human cancer and targeting pathways to improve therapies for breast, lung, and ovarian cancers. Current projects include developing tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL)-based cancer therapy, elucidating the role of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) phosphatases, studying autophagy regulation, and investigating PD-L1 expression. Notable achievements include the discovery of the TRAIL death receptor DR5 and the co-discovery of the anticancer agent ONC201/dordaviprone (Modeyso™). ONC201 was approved by the FDA in August 2025 for the treatment of recurrent H3K27M-mutant diffuse midline glioma. Techniques used include cell and molecular biology, tumor mouse models, bioinformatics, RNA-seq, and immune assays.
