Why Dysfluent Font Does Not Aid Second Language Learning

多项研究表明,阅读难以辨认(dysfluent)的字体可以增强对学习材料的记忆和理解,但尚不清楚这种效果是否延伸至第二语言(L2)学习。本研究探讨了dysfluent字体对L2文本记忆和理解的影响,在一个480名学生的样本中控制了学习者个体差异(性别、L2焦虑、L2熟练度和L1词汇量)。我们发现,无论是在短时和长时延迟信息保留、理解方面,还是在元认知判断方面,均未发现积极的dysfluency效应,且学习者的个体差异也未调节该效应。本研究提供了强有力的证据表明,在L1中观察到的dysfluency记忆效应并不延伸至L2学习情境。该领域需要进一步研究,以评估是否存在特定的个体差异组合、dysfluent字体复杂度及其他特征能够使学习者受益。
