The shift towards digital and blended learning has placed new demands on educators, requiring them to design engaging and pedagogically sound learning experiences while ensuring efficiency. In response to these challenges, the educational design tool myScripting was developed to support teachers in designing digital learning opportunities. This innovative tool, originally the result of a design workshop, offers features such as visual flowcharts, metadata integration and powerful analytics tools. myScripting transfers the benefits of visual educational planning into the digital world, optimising planning processes with greater efficiency, adaptive support and improved opportunities for collaboration. Designed to meet the complex demands of educational design, myScripting enables educators to plan and reflect on learning opportunities based on established educational design principles such as constructive alignment and the ICAP model. A key focus area is seamless integration with Learning Management Systems (LMSs), to allow designs to be transferred directly into platforms such as Moodle. In addition, the tool offers the option of exporting teaching designs into different formats for different audiences - for example, as a detailed lesson plan for lecturers, or as syllabus for a structured overview, with clear presentation of learning outcomes, assessments, learning activities and assignments. The continuous incorporation of user feedback has resulted in a tool that is easily accessible, user-friendly and effective for both experienced trainers and beginners. Future enhancements, particularly those based on artificial intelligence (AI), will open up additional possibilities: advanced analyses, context-based suggestions and targeted support in formulating learning objectives and activities will help teachers develop even more motivating, effective and efficient educational designs. As the demand for digital learning grows, myScripting will continue to be a valuable resource for educators, offering a flexible, intuitive and analytically robust tool for educational design.
